Website delivery & security
When you visit or download a file, the web server processes connection data such as your IP address, time of request, requested address, response status and browser information. This is needed to deliver the website, investigate errors and protect it against misuse. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a reliable and secure website under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.
Technical hosting providers may process this data on our behalf. Access is limited to people who need it to operate and secure the service.
To confirm before publication: hosting provider, server country, processors, any transfers outside the EEA and safeguards, actual log fields and deletion period. Any security services used on the live website also need their data flows and retention settings checked.
When you contact us
If you email us, we process your address, message and information you choose to include to respond to your request.

- Other enquiries: our legitimate interest in answering questions, under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.
We retain correspondence while it is needed to resolve the request and, where applicable, to meet legal retention duties or handle legal claims. You do not have to contact us to use the website. Without a reply address we may be unable to answer.

Wonderful Cookie and Consent Banner stores your choices in the first-party cookie wonderful_cookie_and_consent_banner for up to 365 days. This preference is necessary to respect your choice; it is not used to track you. The legal basis for related processing is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR; necessary storage is covered by § 165(3) TKG 2021.
You can change or withdraw optional consent at any time using the Cookie settings control. Withdrawal does not affect processing that was lawful before you withdrew it.
Optional statistics with Matomo
The production configuration uses Matomo at matomo.thaler-software.eu to understand how pages and downloads are used. The consent banner controls the statistics category. Analytics must only load after you agree. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(a) GDPR and § 165(3) TKG 2021.
Depending on the confirmed server settings, Matomo processes visited pages, referrers, time, device/browser information, IP data and identifiers such as _pk_* cookies. We do not treat self-hosting as proof that no service provider receives data.
To confirm before publication: Matomo host and processors, server country, IP masking, cookie lifetimes, raw-data and report retention, and any international transfers.
Fonts, links & downloads
This design keeps the existing Open Sans typeface and serves its font files locally. Product images and screenshots are stored with the website. Ordinary links to WordPress.org or other websites only take you to that provider when you follow them. The destination then processes your visit under its own privacy information.
Downloading a file from this website produces a normal web-server request. The behaviour of a plugin after installation depends on that plugin and your configuration. Each product page describes the relevant features. For the Mac app, see the separate DiskMap privacy notice.
Our Mac apps
Wonderful DiskMap, Open in Terminal and Video to Transcript collect no personal data. They have no account, no advertising, no analytics and no telemetry, and nothing you do in them is reported to us. Each app works only on the folders and files you point it at, and writes its results where you tell it to.
DiskMap and Open in Terminal make no network requests at all. Video to Transcript makes exactly one kind: when you pick a speech model, it downloads that model once from Hugging Face (huggingface.co, repository argmaxinc/whisperkit-coreml) after telling you how large it is. That request carries what any download carries, your IP address and the file requested, and is handled by Hugging Face under their own privacy policy. Your recordings, the extracted audio and the transcripts stay on your Mac.
Each app keeps its own settings on the device, such as the folder you last chose or the terminal you prefer, inside its sandbox container. Removing the app removes them. Apps bought from the Mac App Store are delivered by Apple; what Apple records about a purchase is covered by Apple’s privacy policy, and we receive only anonymous sales figures.
Your rights
Subject to the GDPR conditions, you may request access, correction, erasure, restriction and portability of your personal data. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests and withdraw consent at any time. Contact us using the address above.
You may complain to the Austrian Data Protection Authority (Datenschutzbehörde) or another competent supervisory authority. We do not make automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects about website visitors.
